Hi I was just wondering what’s your twitter account so I can follow you and keep updated with Solar 2. Also how much is Solar 2 going to be on Steam?

  2. Bernhard says:

hi, just played the demo on Steam.
    good work!!!
there is one thing though: all the ,/,\,[,], etc. are usually mapped completely differently on non-English keyboards, thus the tutorial instructions about these keys are mostly useless…

Where do I go to get support for the game. Just installed it on steam and I have uninstalled it and it keeps giving me an error message. No Suitable Graphics card found. Unable to creat the graphics device. I updated my windows .net and still doesn’t work correctly. I really want to play the game but cannot figure out whats wrong with it.

    Thanks for your help.

  5. cartvader says:

Is there going to be any difference between the XBLA and Steam version (less updates on one or more features on another)?

  6. Ken says:

I purchased Solar 2 on steam this morning and it will not install. I re-installed steam along with all my other games and Solar 2 is the only one giving the server busy message. Please give us an update on the problem. Thanks.

    @ Solar 2

Well done mate, my girlfriend loves it, as do I. There is hardly a game my gf likes to play so kudos to you for that! Great concept, simple and neat!

Also the gameplay is similar to this space MMO: http://www.armada-online.com/

Check it out its free and developed by 3 people. Instead of planets you have spaceships/lasers/guns! Worth a look mate.

Thanks again for your efforts! ;)

hey Jay, really interested in your work! How many people you got working there at Murudai?

    • Jay Watts says:

Well, like I say on my ‘About’ page, it’s just me. I’m a one man team! If you scroll down on the ‘Solar 2′ page it talks about about the development of Solar 2.

  9. Sam Sego says:

Hey, I didn’t know if I should email or leave a comment, but anyway I’ve been having a problem with the full version of solar 2. I get an error saying code 4, and contact the creator of the game. Everytime I get this message, I get sent back to the dashboard, and this happens whenever I look at my saved system that contains 4 stars and 5 planets. But everything else works, but this is serriously annoying because that was my most recent save. Thanks for taking the time to view this Jay.

    • Jay Watts says:

Yeah, there is a patch currently going through the release process as we speak that will fix all these issues. Problem is the system is rather slow, so it could be a week before it becomes live I’m afraid.

  12. Jack says:

    Hi!
I’ve played your demo on my pc, but my main machine is a Mac. Are there any plans on releasing a Mac version on steam? That would be great!
    Thanks,
    Jack

  15. segamaniac says:

Exceedingly fun game. I bought it for $3 on Steam; thanks for the time you took to develop the game.

  16. Thomas says:

Jay, thanks for developing such an engrossing and fantastic game as ‘Solar 2′. I bought ‘Solar’ over a year a ago, and enjoyed that so much, that when I saw ‘Solar 2′ on XBL, I had to play it (I didn’t even realize how late it got last night after playing for several hours!). I’ve been recommending both games to friends. Playing them has driven me back into working on some games I’ve had stuck in my head for way too long.
    Thank you!
    Thomas

  17. Hi Jay, Nice work on Solar 2 I really enjoyed it, have you ever thought of releasing Solar 1 on Steam for people who don’t have X360′s because I think it will be worth it.

    • Jay Watts says:

That would be a tricky port, as the game wasn’t designed for PC at all. I don’t think it’s worth it personally because Solar 2 is more like a better version of Solar 1 than anything, if you’ve played Solar 2 I don’t think you’ll get much out of Solar 1, so I’d just suggest people to get Solar 2!

      • Richard Parker says:

Yeah I see your point, shame I’ve never played Solar 1 (I’m more of a Sony guy) I would off liked to seen the improvements first hand, anyhow thanks for the reply.

        • Richard Parker says:

Also what’s the missions like in Solar 1? Because it would be good to see a update for Solar 2 which includes the missions from Solar 1 for people who haven’t played the first game.

  18. Holmiboii says:

Hallo there! any chanse of get a re-link to your old RTS engine?

  19. I am a part of a college magazine, its an online magazine and I am writing the gaming section, I am a big fan of Independent games and yours has to be one of the best, I was hoping I could review and have an interview with you(MSN or questions sent by email) we would put links to your website and tell people where to buy the game (Steam or Xbox) as compensation for your time?

  20. swim says:

    Hi.

I am a new student to as3 and I am putting together an rts similar to your old project for school. I was wondering if you have your old code available at all as the links I have found t5o download the source code are all well and truly void.

    Your response is appreciated.

    • Jay Watts says:

Hi. I haven’t worked on that engine in years; I know it’s broken and I’m too busy to get it functional. During the course of making that RTS I went from a beginner to a programming professional, you learn so much in the process that it’s worth more than the final product. If I just gave you the code all you’d know how to do is make an RTS, but if you worked hard and did it yourself you’d learn enough to be able to program anything :)

  21. I have been trying to get God Mode in solar 2 at the end of the game, but I just can’t seem to figure out what I need to do to defeat the two black holes at the end in the middle of the six stars. I love playing the game, and would like to play it in God Mode. Would you mind some advice on what I need to do?

  22. leo says:

solar 2 looks awesome, and you can create another great game with the same basic idea, something like solar, but in quantum world, the player will be a quark/eletron/atom/molecule etc. , i think this is a great idea, what about you murudai?
i tried to make an atom game, but im not good at this, maybe you could create a game like this

  23. HyenDry says:

Hey i just wanted to say i made a video for Solar 2 I thought it’d be cool if you wanted to use it for advertising Solar 2 or not. I love solar 2 so I thought I’d just make something to show a bit of apprectiation. email me if it peaks your interest at all =]

Again thanks for making an awesome game =D

  24. Brian says:

Hello I was just wondering what programming language Solar 2 was written in as it is an amazing game.

  25. Ryan says:

Hey this game is amazing i haven’t bought it yet but i’ve seen some epic reviews including totalbiscuits reviews and walkthroughs done by other games like SOEgame and i just love the concept of it so much! Only thing that bothers me a little is how you cannot be a moon or a comet since that would be really cool i’m not suggesting to allow players to be something really weird and obscure like a quasar but it would be nice if you could turn into other celestial objects and i think the moon stage could easily fit in between the asteroid and planet stages and if you like the comet idea as well that could fit between the asteroid and moon stages. Come october 2012 as that is my 18th birthday (yay) i’ll be getting an amazing gaming rig and i will most certainly do this game a good review thank you for your work of art! :D

  26. Clemens Riegler says:

  27. Brian says:
